Virginia POZO

Flamenco Dancer

She was born in an Andalusian family from Malaga called « Los Tanos ». As a child she was initiated to the Flamenco way of life by her father and uncles, all of them cantaores (Flamenco singers). From an early age she has been acquainte with the stage and has completed her training in festivals, cultural exchanges and by working in various theatres.

Her dancing is inspired by such masters as Manolo Marin, Concha Vargas or Juana Amaya, but also by the personal and professional encounters that enforce and confirm her passion. Respected and acknowledged by all, she is reputed for the aesthetic quality of her   braceo y cuerpo, a technique she has of course improved and refined through experience and hard work.

The purity of her style, her sensitiveness and inner strength reach in her dance their highest degree of expression.

She takes part in important festivals and tours all over the world : Switzerland, Canada, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Greece, Reunion Island....

She is fmous for her passionate temper and a spontaneous sense of rythm. She develops a gitano (gypsy-like) sytle of Flamenco. Since she created her own company Ser Flamenco in 1992, she has toured France and foreign countries, going from a theatre to another with her musicians.

Dancing is her means of expression and her standards are dictated by her passion for freedom.

Virginia is regularly asked to organise Flamenco dancing courses in France and abroad.
